Along with heating elements, a water heater will lose hot water when a thermostat is not set correctly or is faulty. As a 5-Star plumber company in Ravenna, our Jackson Comfort plumber will test and troubleshoot the device. As with any electronic component, a thermostat will eventually fail without warning from many years of use. Before you lose hot water, contact Jackson Comfort Services and schedule an onsite inspection and consultation.
The faucet will have an adjusting ring and packing nuts that loosen, causing a leak. If the leak is under the sink, there may also be a broken fitting or pipe.
Finding a leak at the spout could indicate a bad or corroded valve seat. When water sediments build up, it erodes the valve seat, which in turn causes the part to leak.
Over time a faucet’s cartridge becomes old and worn out. Once they begin leaking, it must be replaced with a matching cartridge part to stop the leak.
On compression faucets, the washer rests against the valve seat. With age and friction between the two parts, the washer wears out or initially got installed incorrectly.
When a sink handle leaks, turn the water off to the handle and inspect the O-Ring that’s connected to the cartridge. It is the small disc attached to the stem screw.
Over time, water sediments will build up, causing a fixture to leak. The inlet and outlet seals will erode from the access residue and deposits left behind.
